With historic roots as a manufacturing hub, the broader neighborhood was originally home to industries such as the Ford Model T Factory.
The retail centre has been an anchor for the neighborhood as a place to shop and for the community to gather. The planned redevelopment of the site, into a master planned community, represents a unique and rare opportunity for the re-imagination and rejuvenation of a site with direct connections to Toronto’s past.
While still in the initial phases of planning, the redevelopment of the Galleria Shopping Mall site is expected to redefine style and quality community living in Toronto. The project is currently envisioned to bring approximately 2,891 residential units, of which 150 would be affordable units. In addition to the residential density, the project envisions approximately 300,000 square feet of non-residential usage.
